Look for one that says anti-flaking, or ask your stylist to recommend one. If its turning it white most likely you have build up which can be removed with a clarifying shampoo or a mixture of baking soda and water to create a fine paste and applied to the hair for about five or ten minutes, rinsed, shampooed. Many times the hair won't need conditioned afterwards as the baking soda will soften the hair naturally. This should be done between 1-3 times a week depending on how much product is used, and how often you use it. Clarifying shampoo however is stronger and should only be used once a week at the most or as little as once a month.

BTW, I would treat your hair with the clarifying treatment I told you about or the clar. shampoo (label on bottle will say clarifying or ask your stylist), a couple times before you put any gel in it the first time.

Try bed head pomade... it not a gel but a cream like substance. it works sooo good and it smells great. It's a little pricey but it's worth it and you don't have to use much! It will last long. I hate when the gel gets flaky and white.

you could use got2b. i use it and nothing really happens to my hair. but make sure u wash it out the next morning. If you don't, it might leave you with flakes but not dandruff. google got2b. What I think is the best is pomade and hair wax. It's healthier, it won't leave your hair white or itchy, its safe and holds better than gel. It gives you a more natural look than fake manikin-like hair. Look for companies like Garnier, or American Crew if your a guy, or got2b pomade. look for the Dr. Schwarzkopf label or something like that its says it at the top. im probably saying it wrong. It has medically approved chems that leave your hair healthy. gud luck. keep looking for wax and pomade, its much more healthier than gel. Gel eventually in the future makes your hair fall out. Pomade and wax only prevents it not cure it. Dont use it to much either or your hair will loose a little shape but not drastically.

Please don't get a cheap wig or toupee. They simply scream, "Cheap!" If you want a wig, go to a professional shop that makes them to fit your features.

Ok, you could bleach your hair, make a real balls of it and then the chances are you will have to buy a wig anyway!

Why don't you have a look through some hair magazines of websites for some inspiration and then print off some pics of your ideas and get a pro to do it.

You can also buy coloured hair paints from Boots and superdrug in many colours - blue, green, bronze and pink etc that you can literally paint on your hair and wash out later.

Seriously DIY hair is never a good idea - I've learnt the hard way!

No, unfortunately. Unless you color, or highlight. They can't return to brown, but when you get a shorter haircut, they do end up looking less noticeable.

I think the only thing that would make it light is bleach. I just got more blonde in mine the other day, and she told me not to add anymore. Mine is super blonde. If you reallllly want to add more blonde though, by bleaching it, just do a lot of deep conditioning. I use a Biolage deep condition. The Fekkai Color Technician Mask is awesome. Or get one at a salon for like $10. I was even so desperate once to add more blonde (w/o looking fried) that I did a homemade hair mask. It was olive oil, mayo, and egg. I would NEVER do that again- SOOOOO smelly. Get a lightener rinse. Also make sure you're using purple shampoo or something for older people w/ white hair. It will make it look lighter!!

Hi Ruby- If you go to a local Beauty supply store- I shop at Sally Beauty supply- you can purchase for around $30 the thermal ionic straightening system-yellow box. I'd suggest that you ask a friend to help you out since the process includes applying the cream, letting it process for 20 mins or so, rinsing it out and then small section by section- flat ironing your hair with a ceramic flat ironer (I'd suggest on that has a 1/2" plate and can be used on wet hair). After 48 hours of NOT washing you hair or getting it wet, your hair will stay straight and waterproof for at LEAST 6 months. I've had it done 6 times now in the past 3 years. I would recommend going to a salon, buying store bleach is extremely hard on your hair, you may even loose it. It also depends if your hair is already dyed, then you are going to have to strip that color out and go from there. Take it from me, I have lost my hair a couple of times trying to get the platinum chunks in my hair by doing it by myself. If you do blond yourself, you aren't going to achieve that white blonde the first try you are going to have to put in at least 2-3 blond color/bleach to achieve the look.

Since you are a red head, you should wear what are called warm colors. Colors that have blue, green, purple or silver under tones will not flatter your coloring. I would suggest colors with a warm undertone such as yellows, oranges, golds and reds. You may be a summer or an autumn. I would suggest looking at a website that will teach you to dress for your skin tone (like the one below). Often people with your coloring are flattered by lavender, browns, warm pinks like salmon, orange-reds, oranges and grayish blues. I would not suggest wearing black because it can make you look very pale. The best way to find a shirt that looks good it to hold it up next to your face in a mirror. If it is a bad color it will make your pimples stick out, make your skin look blochy or pale. Good colors will make your eye pop out, make your lips more red and make your cheeks rosey. Good Luck!

wear clothes with a lot of pigment.. as in if you wear blue.. dont let the blue be too light or pale, since you are fair skinned. avoid pastels. greens, browns. a soft yellow would be permittable in the summer when your skin is a bit darker (if you are not burned)

avoid oranges, reds and purples.

the ultimate no-fail man style: jeans and a polo. they come in a million colors, and always look amazing, whether you are to be casual or looking a little nicer.

Hair dying always damages the hair. It's a matter of doing it only in moderation. I would stick to a color more like her natural color and try and get a hair dye without ammonia in it. Herbal Essences is really good for that.

well people say it damages you like body wise i guess, since the colouring touches your salp. but if it doesn't then it shouldn't be a problem. the whiteness might just be from stress or lack of nutrition

it definitely could damage it, but if it will make her feel better about herself, then i think it would be worth it.

some people have patches where their hair isnt pigmented. sometimes it comes out looking grey, sometimes white. it is a very natural, very common thing, and i even think it looks really cool sometimes.

she should get her hair colored at a salon, though. dont do it for her, and dont let her do it herself. with multi-toned hair, its really tricky.

i hope she learns to accept and love those little flaws. its what make us different from everyone else. i think it sounds really cool. maybe when she gets older, she can start dying those parts blue or red...

Of course dyeing her hair will cause damage. I just read about this new stuff, it looks like mascara but its for hair. It comes in 12 colors. It washes out with each shampoo. She could just apply that every morning before school. I don't know who makes it but if you call around or do a google search you will be able to find it.

Yet, she's still young. I think it is pretty damaging because she will dry her hair out before she's even a teenager! The chances of that is that she may loose her hair in her erly teens, 20's. I would use temperary or hebal coloring if it's that desperate.

hello ! that is probably the worst resort for white/grey ahirs. Dying hair causes really bad damage, and especially at such a young age. You can purchase Henna, its an indian natural dye. Its available in many stores, cash and carrys etc. you can buy it in many colours, and it doesnt cause damage to the hair as it is made form plants and natural products.

Soaking in liquid dish detergent is usually my first step, but I'm not sure that will work with permanent dye. You can try dabbing a medium strength bleach (Chlorine) solution right on the spot with a q-tip, then rinse immediately after it fades the dye (if it does). that might be the best possibility if it is just a small spot.

Probably not the nicest thing to do for the poor kitty- especially since it's still pretty cold and if you cut off all its fur it might mess with it's shedding later on. Try just brushing it. I used to have a cat with very long, very fine hair, an I used to take her to the groomers to get her groomed. It's called the "lion cut" and it's actually kinda cute once you get used to it. I don't think it's cruel at all, as long as you get someone who knows what they're doing to do it, and don't try it yourself.

I wouldn't recommend shearing your cat down to the skin. In addition to being an uncomfortable process, your cat's fur is functional and removing it all will leave him vulnerable to heat changes, scratches, etc.

However, trimming a long haired cat so its fur is comparable to a short haired one would be fine, but make sure the process is as comfortable as possible for your cat. Take it slow and reward during and after the clip.

Some of you that are saying no have not been in my situation. I have a fairly obese cat that has a hard time cleaning himself. His fur had gotten so pasty and stuck that it seemed like the only thing to do. The vet said that the fount sweat pockets that had been stuck around his neck since he is fat and lots of fur that shaving him actually helped him to breath better. And most women have to worry about their long hair that they cannot just cut off and start all over with. You should not choose eyeshadow by what you are wearing. The color really depends on your eye %26amp; hair color and skin color. If you have lighter skin, I recommend a medium purple shade or a medium brown color. Brown looks good on anybody. Use a creamy eye shadow to highlight your brows. If you have medium color, I recommend a tawny or a slightly gold color for eye shadow...It will be beautiful with this skin color. From your description it is hard to figure out whether or not this is a specific breed or not. To me, it sounds like a unique blend of different genes, not a registered breed.

This may be normal shedding (you wouldn't believe how much my dog sheds!) especially with spring coming up, but it might be a good idea to have the dog checked out by the vet just to be sure. A good diet is very important. I have been told that if your dog food has corn in it, it will make them shed more... If you would like more info about foods, e-mail me. Brushing will certainly help so absolutely do it often. In addition, to prevent exacerbation of your brother's symptoms, you should try to keep the dog out of your brother's bedroom, off of furniture, and (as much as is practical) away from common areas of the house where your brother may spend a lot of time. You should also clean up very frequently after your dog... vacuum the carpets and furniture, dust, use a lint roller on your clothes, etc. to show your mom that you are serious about keeping your brother healthy and doing what it takes to keep the dog indoors.

On the other hand, if your brother is having a lot of problems due to the dog, it may be absolutely necessary to either keep the dog outside, or find another home for your dog. Asthma can be very serious. Good luck!

I find the lint rollers don't work very well on any kind of dog hair. I use an actual lint brush which is almost like velcro. When you brush it one way, it picks up the hair, and when you brush it the other way, the hair comes off. (That's how you clean them). They usually come with a handle which can be reversed. I have mixed children and I use a mixture of a hair growth treatment(I forget what its called...Ill look when I get home and let you know) and Motions hair conditioning oil for her hair. I only wash my daughter's hair once every 2 weeks...I kow sounds gross but her hair doesn't retain alot of moisture and watching it all the time will make it dry and brittle. I was her hair in Motion's shampoo and a regulaer conditioner then i use a detangling conditioner after that..

The hair by her hair line, just needs to grow. I would maybe use Paul Mitchells baby shampoo, to try to keep it healthy. Try to use a smoothing cream on it while dry. I only have a professional product suggestion, sorry. TIGI bed head, after party, only a small amount, should help smooth it out.

It's all about the undertones of the skin and hair, it has to match and complement each other. Like Beyonce's hair has a golden hue to it almost Carmel, like the under tones of her skin. Gwen can pull off the ultra blond because she doesn't have a yellow under tone to her skin. If you have ultra pale skin you don't want to wash out your color by going so dark you don't pick up the natural highlights of your skin, like wise with dark skin you don't want to go so light you cant see the under tones in your skin. No matter the skin color, you always want to highlight your natural under tones, be it yellow, golden, or pinkish pale.

I think it really depends on the hair color and the undertones to one's skin. If the two clash, you've got a major disaster, made more noticeable because of the contrast.

Many blondes tan well and the contrast looks fine--because it is natural. However, a deep olive complexion with most blonde hair shades, would rarely, if ever, work.

You can call a white horse white if you want to, or a grey horse grey if you want to. Whatever you prefer, but there are only a few breeds that recognize "white" as a color in their registries. I have a registered appendix quarter horse and he has turned "white" with age, but I still refer to him as a grey.

Hi! I've had horses for 25 years and the genetic rule of thumb is the albino has pink skin. period. The white horse can have from off grey to dark grey skin while a grey horse (dappled or note) can have darker grey skin to almost black. Hense the dappling. If you look at a paint and shave his coat, he will have a coat that matches the patches of the coat. So genetically, a white horse has light to grey hide ( no pink), and a grey horse will have a darker hide to match. If he has white socks, or a blaze look under the hair and you will see this to be a fact. The rule in registering any horse with a breeders association goes by COAT color, not skin or hide. So a grey will be based on the hue that is NOT white, yet leans towards a darker coat. The facial and leg marking goes by coat color and NOT anything else. A blaze is a blaze a sock is not a stocking and a bay tends to have four dark legs just like a buckskin. BUT the coat color of tan makes it a buckskin not a bay even though the leg markings and dark mane and tail are the same. Make sense? So appearance is everything and what in underneath does not. They are the only true white horses becuase "white" is only a variation of gray. Usually "white" hair has gray colored hairs in it.

I don't care what you say about not using pink skinned horses in this question, because it is necessary to mention them to answer the question correctly. If a horse is white with black skin, the "scientific" color is grey. A horse that is white with pink skin is the only horse that can be called "white".

Grey is the correct term when referring to a horse that has changed color with age. White is appropriate when referring to a pattern that the horse is born with. Pintos and Appaloosas are born with white patterns, and it is also possible for the dark areas to turn grey as they mature.

If you wet down a grey horse with a white pattern, it is easier to see the difference.

You can call it what you want to but it doesn't change the fact that a horse with white hair on dark skin is a grey, that's the correct term and calling it anything else just makes you sound like someone who doesn't know much about horses.

It DOES make perfect sense if you understand that the horse you're talking about WILL have white hair in a few more years. That's how the grey modifier works. The horse is born with a darker coat, then gradually changes color over the years. There are different terms to describe certain points in the greying process, such as Dapple grey, Flea-bitten grey, Rose grey, Steel grey, etc. When the hair finally loses all it's pigment, then it's often called "White grey", but it's never correct to call it just plain "white".

There's a reason for the terms we have for colors... a white horse is completely different (and it's not an albino, by the way.) It's MUCH more confusing to call both horses with dark skin and white hair and horses with pink skin and white hair "white" since those colors are caused by COMPLETELY different genes.
