Why do people always think that if a Black woman gets a weave or tracks in her hair shes trying to l

Ignorance. But I've noticed that it's not usually white people that believe this, but black men. I guess that's because that's because they've never spent eight hours in a beauty salon getting their hair done. Only a woman can appreciate the convenience of a weave/extensions. Other races use them as well, are white women with weaves trying to be white too?

I never thought that...

who said that? what about when white people get weaves or tracks ? what are they trying to be? I know, beautiful! If you ask me people try too hard to fit a certain 'look' which I don't believe is limited by one race

Do They?

yea normally its people thinking whites are trying to be black when they get weaves, braids ect

Why do you say that? Have you actually had someone say that to you.

Well, she is. Black people have been brainwashed into self hatred. Why do most blacks feel like they need to put relaxers in their hair? (to look more white?) What exactly is good hair? (hair that looks more like white peoples hair?) Why not be happy with what you already have? Some black people's hair just won't grow. I say that they should save the weave for Halloween! By the way, I am black. I went natural 2 years ago and my hair has really grown! (I had to get all of the relaxer cut out of my hair) My hair would've never grown this fast with a relaxer. My hair is fuller and darker. I love it! For the first time, I look in the mirror and see a true beauty. I actually fell in love with my hair. I accept the fact that I wasn't born with naturally straight hair or big curls. Sometimes I even wear it in a big afro! (like Crazy-Bone). I twist my hair with gel or shea butter every 2 wks. (I don't have dreads) I even wash it with the twists and because my hair is natural, they won't come out. I then comb it out individually and retwist it. I find this to be a good way to grow my hair.

That doesn't make sense. If a white woman gets a weave or tracks I would think she was trying to look black.

I think this was brought up by black men I'm a black woman and some black men don't seem to like the weaves and some do you can't run you're finger s through a weave too close to the scalp you might hit a track or a braid or a stocking cap weaves are so prominent in the black community black women have always wanted the long straight hair we just don't have it our hair is not straight it naturally curls i don't have a perm i have been natural for 2 years and i love it black women need to embrace their natural beauty and stop trying to do whats accepted by society some jobs don't allow dreads or natural hair it has to be straighted why this is our natural hair why is it considered nappy or i know she ain't walking around with her hair in a fro i wore my hair in a fro i got called names from back power to Angie stone and I'm not big and dark I'm small and light blacks need to stop blaming whites for their problems and make a stand for them selves

i would like to know just who these people are that think that... beauty is how you see it and forget about what others say

I don't think that. The only thing I got a problem with is when a black woman is racist and dyes her hair blonde.
