As we age, our hair loses the melanin (pigment) and thus, looks white. Fortunately we have multitudes of color to cover it up.... but I like all white or an all grey mane!

as one grows older, the oil glands on the roots of our hair also diminishes, thus lessening the supply of nutrients to our hair strands, giving it a white color and giving it dryness.
