Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying

I disagree with this.

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

I know, hair is hair and I am not trying to be anything. And I love my natural hair. I dont bother any race just because they like to braid their hair. Its your hair you do what you want to do.

Same with lips, cuz some people want fuller lips and I dont claim that their trying to be this or that, they are just doing what they feel is attractive.

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

I agree with you

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

If you disagree, go natural.

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

Straight, natural, it doesn't matter to me. I think all black women are beautiful period!

So like, when can we hook up? ( ^ _ ^ ) Just joking of course.

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

I would think you guys would rather have straight hair. I don't mean this in a bad way, I just am not black, but isn't your hair really hard to like brush or comb if it's not relaxed and straightened? I wouldn't consider you trying to act white if I saw you with straight hair, I would think.... wow she saved herself a lot of time in the morning.... actually I think black people look better with straight hair.

Hope I didn't offend you, because I really wasn't trying too.

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

I disagree too. But I'm white so I'm not sure my oppinion on this counts. But if I took the time or spent the money to have my "honky" (my joke) hair done up in some of the beautifull styles I envy on black women, folks would ask me why I wanted to be black. It just proves that we are not a homogenius culture and even those who say that they are colorblind aren't.

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

Who says that? I AM white, and I have to straighten my hair...

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

I also disagree. Hair depends on genetics so depending on background there are some "black" people with somewhat straight hair. So are they born trying be white?

I hate that people say anything blacks do is trying to be white, while other races can do whatever they want to their bodies and it's just them "enhancing" their beauty or something. It's ridiculous. Each individual person has their own opinion of beauty and they should be able to do whatever they want to achieve that.

I like variety so wearing my hair natural, straight, whatever all depends on my mood. I don't associate straight hair with whites and I'm definitely not trying to be white when I straighten my hair.

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

Because people of West African descent -- including most African-Americans -- don't naturally have straight hair. Straight hair is a quality of Europeans and thus is part of the European standard of beauty. For a Black woman to straighten her hair is conforming to that standard. Granted, straight hair can be easier to take care of, but that trait is artificial in most Blacks. Black women are beautiful just the way they are without taking on qualities of White women.

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

as do i .. as i think they would have to bleach their skin as well if they really want to be one. girls go for different hairstyle, they like to do their hair once a while..so straightening their hair doesn't mean they want to be white at all

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

Same when black people succeed and become educated, they get accused of "not being black enough."

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

I totally agree with you..........

if anything Asians tend to have bone straight hair (compared to white people) but you don't hear people saying we are trying to look Asian now do you????

Why is it that if a black woman wants to straighten their hair, all of a sudden they're trying 2B white?

It's not so much the straightening...It's more the weaves and long blond extensions that some black women chose to wear.

They look like idiots and anyone can see that they are trying their best to look like white girls.

It's pathetic.

ME, I have long beautiful natural locks...just like my avatar.

Sorry Venom...
