After chemo does hair come back its original color?

My mom has gone through chemo and her hair is starting to grow back. But its this color they call "arctic white" and it has no pigment what-so-ever. I just want to know if the hair will eventually grow in darker or will my mom forever have "arctic white" hair?

well, mine came back in a similar color......but I've lost it three times now, and it came back more grey each time. I always had thick hair, but it came back even more thick.....and it started out curly the first time and then lost the curl, but I had tons of body and it grew back in a layered style, which I did not have before I lost the hair....this time the curls have stayed for almost a year now.

It may or may not grow back the same color and texture. There's really no assurance either way.

My mom went through chemo too. She had black hair before her chemo, and afterwards her hair stayed black, but lost some of its natural highlights, shine, etc. After chemo, some people's hair can even be a completely different color and texture. I knew people who had blonde, straight hair before chemo, and after, it grew back black and very curly. I'm not sure if the hair will eventually grow darker, but my mom dies hers now. I work at a Cancer Center and most of our pt's hair grows back in a different color and sometimes even curly. It's really strange how it works.

Mine came back the same the first time. I don't know about this time. I'm still keeping it all cut off with a clippers. I don't look good with the mangey dog look. LOL.

It may change in texture or color. After radiation and chemo, my husband's hair grew back wavy. Before it was very straight. It became very fine in texture after it came back and the color was darker.
