Black hair care?

I got a Matrix relaxer from a white hair salon and my hair is now falling out by the handfuls. My scalper is sore...and I don't know what to do? Have you heard of Matrix hair products? Is it for black hair?

Black hair care?

Yes, I have heard of Matrix and it can be used for black hair. They probably left the relaxer in too long, didn't wash all of the relaxer out, or didn't use any or enough neutralizer.

You may need to get some neutralizing shampoo and wash your hair again. You need to stop the chemical reaction. But, by now it is probably too late to save your hair. And what in the world made you go to ANY hair salon for the first time and not know if they can do a relaxer, let alone a white hair salon. Usually, white people do not get relaxers. I used to work for my cousin who was a stylist for about 6 years when I was a teenager.

ive never heard of the product matrix. i doubt it is for black hari since u got the product from a white hair salon. i usually use a product called aphogee...and its for black peoples hair...u should try the aphogee shampoo for damaged hair.

Black hair care?

dont go to a white salon ...only for things like hair cuts... and dont use any HAIR PRODUCTS FROM a white salon because theyr hair is more moist than ours so theyre hair products dont really have good moisturizers in them and theyer hair is stronger than ours blakk hair is very fragile thas prolly why it fell out lesson learned we all make hair mistakes mine was a 13 yr 1

Black hair care?

No Matrix is not a line used specificly for Ethnic hair textures. I first want to offer my sympathy for your situation.

I'm going to give you steps, because you have alot to do:

1. Take pictures of hair damage.

2. Immediately notify the salon of your hair loss, and sores.

3. Seek a dermatologist opinion because those sores are chemical burns, and could become infected.

4. Once you notify salon, tell them you want your money back, and you want them to pay for hair treatments to repair the damage they have caused.

5. Go to a stylist who knows how to care for ethnic hair specifically African American hair.

Heads Up:

1. Prepare for a hair cut. I don't know how bad it is but you might have to get alot of damage cut out.

2. Have a consultation with your new stylist before you sit in her/his chair, preferably a few days before. This way you can get a feel for their professionalism, and maybe even see a style book of theirs, and they will also be able to see your hair conditon.

*Find a stylist by word of mouth, but here are a few sites where you can find salon list.
