Best products to use to make your hair stand up straight?

I'm planning on being a troll doll for Halloween %26amp; I don't know how to get my thick hair to stand up. Lots of hairspray just won't work. I've heard gelatin works but is hard to get out of your hair and white elmer's glue works but ruins your hair. Any suggestions?

my teacher used glue, and it stuck straight up for three hrs. just wash it out when your finished. i don't think it's that bad
