What causes white hair? And Why does my 12-year-old daughter have white hair?
She's had a few grays in her hair, since she was eight. Not a big deal. But now since we moved to the northcoast, the grays seem to be alot more and are now very much visible. It's been two years since we have moved and the grays seem to multipy. I've tried almost everything to stop it, but nothing works. Her hair is gray, has no luster, dry, and frizzy. What can I do to stop this?
It could be genetics, since I've had a couple of whites since I was 20. But from 8? I don't think so.

its fairly genatic, with some influences from stress. I had grey hair since I was 7. Its not a bid deal or anything, nothing is wrong. Its just genatic. You can feed her black sesame seeds to make her hair darker and have more luster

A faulty diet and mental worries are the two primary causes of premature greying of hair. It is mainly due to the lack of some of the B vitamins, of iron, copper and iodine in the daily diet that this hair disorder is caused at a young age these days. Mental worries produce an extraordinary tension in the skin of the scalp which interferes with the supply of vital nutrition necessary for the health of the hair. Similarly, anxieties, fear, jealousy and failures have adverse effects on the hair. They dry out the scalpular marrow, the vital sap at the root of the hair.
Other causes of premature greying of hair are unclean condition of the scalp which weakens the roots of the hair as the pores are blocked by the collected dirt ; washing the hair with hot water and drying them with electric dryers which emit a blast of hot air ; the use of hair dyes in the earlier stages when the hair have just started greying ; diseases like chronic cold, sinusitis, anaemia, chronic constipation ; and the use of factory- made hair oils, which are generally cleaned with acids and some of the acids have a tendency to remain in the oil. Heredity is another predisposing factor which gives rise to this ailment.

she could be stressed out, since everyones body reacts to stress differently. (My hairs been falling out from the age of 11) It could be genetic as you said, check the other side of the family tree. It could also be her diet, possibly not enough cholesterol (the good type)

she is probably reffering to a system of child-like dependenscy. what she needs is more deep cleansing shampoo. there are a few other things u could also try. you could take her to a doctor and get a perscribed shampoo to renew the hair follicles or try dying her hair her natural color.

if your daughter has red hair then it is normal or it could be the sun, you might want to see a docter and they will tell you. get a shampoo meant for her hair color and friutis sleek and shine conditioner.and you might be tempted to dye her hair but dont it will just make it worse trust me

ok theres something that could be going on.. if someone in your family has had grey hair then thats why. 1 way you could stop it is dying her hair. go to a styliest and ask them what to do. my cousins friend had this problem she died her hair a brown color and now the grey is gone!
